The Action Group can help with a ‘one stop shop’ on green home improvements. 

 

You get a free survey of your home and a menu of options for improvement, with approximate costs and indicative pay back periods (it depends on how you use energy and can only be an estimate).

Those options cover:

 

• loft/roof/wall insulation (and ‘easy win’ insulation improvements);

• solar panels;

• battery to store solar, or cheap night-time renewables, energy; and

• heat pumps.  

There is one point of contact - so you only need to deal with one person.  You have a free choice as to whether, when you have thought about it, you take none, one or more options – and you can take one sooner and think about others later[1].

We have piloted this approach with two integrated suppliers, Raven and Insta.  We can introduce you to neighbours who have worked with each so that you can talk privately to people locally about how it was worked out for them.

 

We can also talk to you about how to pay for any installation.  Depending on your personal position, you may be entitled to public support under various schemes.  Or you may be able to obtain reasonable private financing so that the upfront cost is reduced or removed, and you see cash positive benefits immediately.  We have produced a model for you to test the pros and cons.
